Project Time Management is another knowledge area which consists of 6 processes for planning time. It is an important area that helps us to know the activities, their duration and dependencies. Also it helps us to know how to manage, execute and control the project schedule.
The six processes are as follows:
- Plan Schedule Management – The process of establishing procedures on how to plan, develop, manage, execute and control the project schedule.
- Define Activities – The process of identifying the actions to be performed for the project.
- Sequence Activities – The process of identifying the relationship between one project activity and another.
- Estimate Activities Resources – The process of estimating the resources used for each activity. The resource can be equipment, material, human resource or supplies.
- Estimate Activity Duration – The process of estimating time (working period) to complete the activity with estimated resource.
- Develop Schedule – The process of creating the project schedule model after analyzing the activities, sequences, resources, durations as well as schedule constraints.
