This is the second process of planning time. It is the process of identifying all the actions to be performed to achieve the project requirements. The followings will be our inputs:
- Schedule management plan (which explains the procedures of how to manage work)
- Scope baseline (which indicates Work Breakdown Structure with deliverable, assumptions and constraints),
- Enterprise Environmental factor (which explains the structure of the organization with their work responsibilities)
- Organizational Process Assets (which explain all the activities performed from the previous similar projects and lessons learnt from them)
This process can also be made easy by meeting with the project team and experts who will define the activities for the project. Note that, there are some cases whereby the project due to its huge complexity, the activities will be elaborated progressively. This technique we call it as Rolling wave Planning.
The output of this process is a document with
- The activity list (with their titles or names)
- The activity attributes (with duration, resources and costs)
- Milestone list (a mandatory event in the project with zero duration)
